Meet Mrs. Brunazzi

I'm Trisha Brunazzi, the Hillcrest Gifted coordinator.  I enrich students in 5th and 6th grade and provide them with personalized learning experiences to build their academic strengths.
I began teaching in 2002 and have since worked as a learning support teacher, a regular education teacher, and a gifted educator.  I grew up in Hempfield Township and received my Bachelor's Degree from Carlow University with a triple major in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, and Elementary Education.  After graduating, I moved to Virginia where I taught special education preschool for a few years.  In 2004, I was hired at Norwin to teach 7th grade Math and Science.  Next, I headed to Stewartsville to be the elementary learning support teacher.  I received my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Gannon University and moved to a 3rd grade classroom and later a 4th grade classroom. In 2016, I switched to the K-4 gifted coordinator and now I will teach gifted students in grades 5-6.
My greatest professional achievement is when I became a Nationally Board certified teacher in 2009.  Throughout my years at Norwin, I have had extensive training on STEM education and have many leadership and outreach opportunities as a lead STEM teacher.
I look forward to many more years of challenging gifted students and enriching their instruction.
